Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-05-18. This policy applies to IdeaLens, an AI-powered startup-idea validation tool operated by Jaxel ("we", "us", "Jaxel").

1. What we collect

We collect only what is necessary to deliver the analysis and (if you opt in) the VC submission service.

  • Analysis inputs: the answers you provide to the 10 intake questions. These are stored on our servers under an unguessable share ID.
  • Derived analysis output: heuristic scores and AI-generated commentary linked to your submission ID.
  • Submission account data (optional): if you opt in to the VC submission track, we collect your full name and email address. We do not collect payment information.
  • Operational data: a one-way hash of your IP address and your browser user-agent for rate limiting and abuse prevention. We do not store the raw IP.
  • Form interaction data: aggregate timing and editing signals from your interactions with the intake form (such as time spent on each question and whether content was pasted). We use this to maintain the integrity of the IdeaLens scoring system and to detect automated or duplicate submissions. This data is not shown to you and is not shared with third parties.
  • Email exchanges: if you correspond with us by email, we keep that correspondence.

2. How we use it

  • To generate, store, and let you share your analysis.
  • To send you operational emails (confirmation links, MNDAs, status updates).
  • To enable the VC submission track only after you have explicitly opted in, accepted these Terms, and verified your email.
  • To improve calibration of the IdeaLens scoring system, in aggregated/anonymized form only.
  • To meet our legal obligations and to protect our rights.

3. Sharing your idea with VC partners

IdeaLens does not auto-forward any submission. Forwarding occurs only after all of the following are true:

  • You scored at or above the configured threshold.
  • You explicitly opted in to VC submission and accepted the Mutual NDA.
  • You verified your email via the magic link.
  • Your submission has either passed manual review by Jaxel staff or qualifies for the auto-forward track based on our published thresholds.
  • The receiving VC partner is currently active in our admin panel, meaning a partnership agreement is on file.

Each forward is logged. You may withdraw your submission at any time (see Section 7).

4. Service providers we use

  • OpenAI — to generate qualitative commentary on your analysis. Your inputs are sent in real time to OpenAI's API solely to produce the response.
  • Resend (or our configured email provider) — to deliver confirmation emails, MNDAs, and notifications.
  • Hosting infrastructure — analysis records and submission data are stored within our hosting environment.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies strictly for session management of the admin panel. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers on the public-facing pages.

6. Retention

Analysis records are kept for as long as the share link remains live, or until you ask us to delete them. Submission account data is kept for as long as the submission is active and for 24 months thereafter for audit purposes, then deleted. Audit logs of administrative actions are retained for 24 months.

7. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and you can withdraw consent for VC submission at any time. Reply to any email from us with the word "withdraw", or contact privacy@jaxel.com.

8. Children

IdeaLens is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes

We will publish changes to this policy on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes affecting how we share your idea will be communicated to you by email if you have opted in to VC submission.

10. Contact

This policy is provided in good faith and intended to be plain-language. It is not legal advice. Please consult Jaxel's legal team for the controlling document.
